It’s one of the largest tech conferences in the world… And I’ll be taking you along with me for this year’s Show. Over the next few days, some of the biggest names in tech will be unveiling new gadgets and discussing the hottest tech trends of 2024.
The conference doesn’t officially start until tomorrow at noon… But some friends and I got a sneak peek of the products that have the tech world buzzing this year.

The Consumer Electronics Show – or CES – here in Las Vegas, Nevada, doesn’t officially start for another two days. But me and a few of my friends were allowed in early.
Today, I’ll give you a preview of what’s to come. Here’s some of the coolest tech that I’ve found at CES 2024.
Probably the hardest booth to get in front of is Cold Snap instant-made ice cream. CNET calls it “the Keurig of ice cream makers.”
You insert cartridges into Cold Snap’s pod-style machines. In about a minute and a half, it spits out freshly made ice cream. It can also make other frozen beverages, smoothies, and coffee drinks.
This gadget is meant for the commercial market, offices, and retail establishments right now. It likely won’t be long before we’ll see it for home use. I think my kids would like this one.
One of the devices that has been getting some of the most attention is also one of the largest – Genesis Systems’ Water Cube.
The Cube can pull 180 gallons of drinkable water straight from the air around you. There are, of course, some applications for this residentially… But just think about the military setting up in very remote locations. They’ll be able to get water directly from the air. It’s a very interesting device from Genesis Systems.
There are a lot of small, compact electronic devices meant for mobility. The Honda Motocompacto electric scooter is probably the smallest one.
I think if I sat on it, I might break it. But for those of you who haven’t been eating too much pizza, this might be a cool way to get around.
On the sportier side of things, we’ve got Horwin’s new electric bike. It’s got about a 180-mile range and looks super sleek.
Motorcycles are, more or less, a luxury item in the United States. In some parts of the world, transportation like this is more widely used.
Another spectacular example of an electronic motorcycle is made by Verge. It’s got about 130 miles of range. I’m not a motorcycle guy, but I’d love to get on one of these.
If you tuned in for Friday’s Bleeding Edge, I shared with you the three tech industries I see taking off in 2024. One of those was the robotics industry… And that trend has definitely come up at CES this year.
There are lots of robotic lawnmowers, as well as a robotic snowplow and a robotic pool cleaner. Lots of entries into the robotics market. I don’t think anyone is going to specifically set themselves apart… But I can certainly see these robotic lawnmowers and snowplows coming to a golf course or a lawn maintenance area near you.
A device I’ve always thought about getting is a smoker. They’re small barbecuing tools for slow-cooking meats. I’ve seen a digital variety of smokers as well as the traditional ones you put outside. There’s a model made by General Electric that’s an indoor digital smoker… So you can smoke your meats inside now.
Next up, we have Parkie from HL Mando. It slides under your car and transports it. Think of it as an autonomous valet.
This would be useful in some areas – particularly in major cities in states like New York and California – where parking gets a little tight. Parkie moves the cars around on these discs. It certainly could be interesting.
One cool gadget I looked at was the private mask from the startup Skyted. The company gave me a full demonstration.
Say you’re trying to have a private call or not make a lot of noise on an airplane, on public transportation, in an Uber, etc… You can put this mask on.
It essentially soundproofs your conversation. The people around you can’t hear you talking. So you can have a confidential or private phone call… Or many people could have phone calls on airplanes and not disturb the people around them. They have a Kickstarter launching here pretty soon.
There’s a lot of attention and buzz around augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) glasses. You have Meta with their Oculus and their Ray-Ban glasses.
The company XREAL has unveiled a similar tech. They’ve created glasses you can put on and digitize a screen in front of you. It’s very much like the Apple Vision Pro. And it appears they’re coming here very soon.
These have a price tag at about the $700 to $800 range. They look quite normal on people’s faces. You might not guess at a glance that they’ve got screens built in.
There were quite a few demonstrations from Hurotics. The company has created a device you strap to your legs and it assists you in walking. This could be an incredible system for people who are recovering from an injury or have trouble walking.
That was day one of the Consumer Electronics Show – a preview day, if you will. It showcased some of the newest and maybe the most speculative technology that the show has to offer.
